Most, Czech Republic
Fifth round of the 2026 Superbike World Championship, fifth sweep for Nicolò Bulega. At Autodrom Most, in the Czech Republic, the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati rider claimed pole, Race 1, the Superpole Race and Race 2, staying unbeaten this season. But the Czech weekend revealed a championship that's getting tougher: the margins are the closest of the year.
In Superpole Bulega smashed the all-time circuit record on his way to pole. In Race 1 the picture quickly turned complicated: a red flag on lap one for Danilo Petrucci's crash at turn 13 (taken to hospital with bruising) forced a restart. Bulega regained the lead and held off Iker Lecuona to the flag, finishing 1.330 seconds ahead, with Yari Montella third.
The Superpole Race on Sunday produced the weekend's most spectacular moment: Bulega ran wide at turn one and dropped to third, but in three laps he was back in the lead, pulling 1.959 seconds clear of Lecuona. Ducati locked out the entire top-5, with Montella, Baldassarri and Surra completing the quintet.
In Race 2 the fight with Lecuona became the tightest of the year: the Spaniard pushed all the way to the final lap and Bulega took the chequered flag by just 0.594 seconds — the smallest gap of 2026. Montella third, his first triple-podium in WorldSBK.
The numbers: fifth seasonal hat-trick, 19 consecutive wins, 15 from 15 in 2026. In the championship standings Nicolò moves up to 310 points, with a 95-point lead over Lecuona, second for the tenth consecutive time.
Before Aragon, there's a treat for the fans: Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 May Nicolò will be at Misano World Circuit for two days of SBK testing open to the public, from 9:00 to 18:00, with free access to grandstand B from MWC Square. The perfect chance to see him live before the next championship round, scheduled at Aragon from 29 to 31 May.
